Waltham, MA (August 9, 2016) – GET Group North America, a provider of high-assurance security solutions that enhance Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) operations, today announced that its CP500 identification card printer has been Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 certified by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
The CP500 card printer is the world’s most advanced desktop printing solution for identification card and personalized access management solutions. Built on more than two decades of proven experience in delivering highly secure passport and ID solutions for governments all over the globe, the CP500 uniquely combines the superior forensics of 600dpi and durability of pigment ink with user-upgradeable features for personalization to deliver the most secure card printing solution on the market.
The FIPS 201 certification process was developed as part of the response to the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) to establish identification and authentication standards for Federal employees and contractors accessing secure facilities and information systems.
The 600dpi pigment ink technology of the CP500 allows for the highest-quality cards possible, combining superior resistance to wear, fading, and long-term color integrity with the highest-resolution images in the world for easy point-of-use verification and authenticity protection. The ability to add, at time of card personalization, level 2 micro-printing and/or anti-counterfeiting security features differentiates the CP500 and 600dpi printer technology. In order to make the FIPS 201 Evaluation Program’s list of approved products, the CP500 underwent rigorous testing and evaluation by the GSA to ensure the product met Federal standards for ICAM implementation. Its security features protect against card duplication and the threat of counterfeit ID production.
“We are pleased to be recognized by the GSA for our ability to keep up with the complex and evolving ICAM landscape by offering a product that can help safeguard the identities of Federal employees and contractors with access to locations where maintaining security is paramount,” said Alex Kambanis, Managing Director for GET Group NA.
The CP500 is available today for purchase exclusively from selected premium resellers.
