GET Group North America’s David Kelts Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to the Secure Technology Alliance’s Identity Council

Waltham, Massachusetts, (October 16, 2019) – GET Group North America, (“GET Group NA”),  an innovative developer of mobile ID technology with over 20 years of experience in secure government credentials, is pleased to announce that its Director of Mobile ID Product Development, David Kelts, has been named one of the top contributors on the Secure Technology Alliance’s 2019 Honor Roll, which recognizes the leading individual and member company contributors to Alliance activities and projects this year. The Alliance includes nearly all other Mobile Identity vendors in North America.

“The Secure Technology Alliance honor roll program helps us to recognize our top individual contributors each year for their incredible work, leadership and dedication to the Alliance’s mission,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Secure Technology Alliance. “These efforts are what help drive change and awareness within the industry. We appreciate David’s contributions and the time and energy he’s put into our projects and resources this past year.”

David Kelts is an instrumental part of the Identity Council, which provides leadership and coordination for the Alliance’s identity related efforts, with a particular focus on identity trust frameworks; digital identity; strong authentication; authorization; and biometrics. Identity Council activities and projects include raising awareness and providing thought leadership and education on real-world issues of implementing and operating identity and identity authentication and authorization systems.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Secure Technology Alliance, which recently launched an initiative to raise awareness, support development, accelerate adoption and educate the U.S. market on the upcoming state-issued mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs),” said Mr. Kelts. “I’m proud to contribute to the important work that the Identity Council is doing that promotes the ISO 18013-5 mDL standard and re-imagines mobile identity use cases around the world.”

Mr. Kelts is an expert in the fields of citizen-managed mobile ID, proofing and authentication, as well as a certified privacy technologist who holds five identity and computer-related patents. He is also a key contributor to the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) mobile driver’s license (mDL) specification, 18013-5, which is currently being drafted. In his role at GET Group North America, he leads the company’s efforts to ensure its mobile ID technology is in optimal compliance with the new ISO standard.

The Alliance’s 2019 Honor Roll included a total of 77 industry professionals and was compiled based on council leadership, project leadership, and project participation from 2018 to 2019.
